On August 13, 2025 (Wednesday) at 11:00 a.m., the Rotary Club of Ambasamudram East organized a meaningful community service programme at the Veeravanallur Government Hospital in celebration of World Breastfeeding Week. The initiative aimed to support and encourage breastfeeding mothers by providing essential maternity care items.

On August 13, 2025 (Wednesday) at 11:00 a.m., the Rotary Club of Ambasamudram East organized a meaningful community service programme at the Veeravanallur Government Hospital in celebration of World Breastfeeding Week. The initiative aimed to support and encourage breastfeeding mothers by providing essential maternity care items. As part of the programme, 50 nighties and 50 bed sheets with pillow covers were distributed free of cost to pregnant and breastfeeding mothers admitted to the hospital. This thoughtful gesture was well received by the beneficiaries and helped reinforce the importance of maternal comfort and care during the breastfeeding period. The programme was presided over by Club President Rtn. N. G. Murugesh. The event was graced by the presence of Project Director Rtn. D. Suresh, Past Assistant Governor Rtn. S. Isakki Saravanan, and Past President Rtn. P. Adam Eliyas, who appreciated the club’s continued commitment to maternal and child welfare. Club Secretary Rtn. Paramasivam, along with Rtn. Chandrasekar, Rtn. Daniel, and Rtn. Muralitharan, actively participated in the programme and assisted in coordinating the distribution. The hospital medical staff extended their full cooperation, ensuring the smooth conduct of the event. Dr. Jaya Koushika, representing the hospital administration, formally handed over the donated items to the beneficiaries and expressed her gratitude to the Rotary Club of Ambasamudram East for their timely support and concern for the well-being of mothers and newborns. The programme concluded on a positive note, with appreciation from the hospital authorities and beneficiaries alike. The Rotary Club of Ambasamudram East reaffirmed its dedication to serving the community through impactful health and humanitarian initiatives.

Kalikkam Siddhha Medicine Eye camp was organised freely for people at Painthamil Palli.

Kalikkam Siddhha Medicine Eye camp was organised freely for people at Painthamil Palli. Siddha medicine extract called Kalikkam was administered into the eyes through the efforts of the Rotary club of Ambasamudram east. In this event, the PAG S. Esakisaravanan, IPP Atham Ilyas, and Rtns. Kumar, Ganapathyraman attended. 310 people benefitted. 5 public volunteers from the village also helped the club.The camp timing was 7:00 - 9:00 AM, ensuring that all attendees received individual attention and care. The Rotary club members meticulously managed the registration, eye examination, and Kalikkam administration process. All expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to experience the healing benefits of Siddha medicine. The successful completion of the camp was a testament to the dedication of the Rotary Club of Ambasamudram east and the collaborative spirit of the community. The club plans to organise similar camps monthly.
